At 38, he can’t afford any slip-ups. Yarde (23-2, 22 KOs) has had a much more meandering career, but he’ll be aiming to prove he’s fixed up some of the holes he’s displayed in the past, and show himself as a true world-level fighter. Artur Beterbiev will be putting his unified light heavyweight title on the line against mandatory compettiior Anthony Yarde on Saturday, January 28. The fight will take place atg OVO Arena Wembley in London, England. The card will also see Artem Dalakian defend his flyweight title against David Jimenez, plus Willy Hutchinson vs. Emil Markic and amateur standout Karol Itauma vs. Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna. Beterbiev has a perfect knockout-to-win percentage of 100%. The Russian, based in Canada, has never fought in the U.K. before. Journeying into the unknown, Beterbiev doesn’t seem to mind this new opportunity. Beterbiev also believes he will not be thinking how he can beat Yarde, just that he needs to.
